Navigating life can often become overwhelming. Whether you’re anxious about finances, struggling in school, experiencing the loss of a loved one, coping with depression, or any other challenge, JSSA is here for you.
Our multicultural staff of clinical social workers, professional counselors, board-certified psychiatrists, and psychologists provides the support and expert treatment you need to face obstacles and take control.
At JSSA we see the whole you, not just the problems you face. Affirming your culture and background, we will work hand-in-hand with you to develop an individualized program that coordinates a variety of assessment, treatment, and support services specific to your and your family’s needs.
We offer therapy and psychiatry for all our neighbors:
Individuals: Whether you are an older adult or the parent of an elementary school student, we develop a culturally appropriate care plan to meet your individual needs. We help with:
- Emotional and social challenges including anxiety, defiant behavior, communication, depression, and issues with body image;
- Learning and behavioral challenges including issues with attention and concentration, and learning issues;
- Coping with special needs including physical, cognitive, and developmental issues;
- School, life, and work transitions including starting somewhere new, coping with illness, bereavement, and divorce.
We provide a full range of therapeutic options grounded in proven, effective approaches to care (including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, mindfulness therapy, and other evidence-based approaches), but most of all you will find caring professionals who will connect to you and cater to your needs. For those already receiving counseling services from JSSA, we also have a team of board-certified psychiatrists who can provide consultation and treatment.
Couples: Whether you’re moving in together for the first time or celebrating your golden anniversary, you may need help communicating about and resolving issues in your relationship. We help couples build the skills needed to maintain strong, long-lasting relationships through therapy and coaching.
Families: Our licensed clinical social workers and professional counselors help families navigate everything from divorce to financial struggles to bereavement with compassion, care, and respect.
Deaf or Hard of Hearing Community: ASL therapists are available for both in-person and virtual appointments. Those interested in working with an ASL therapist should email contactus@jssa.org and indicate if deaf or hard of hearing. Our intake team will then schedule a video call.
