Angelica Ponce, a JSSA specialized employment client, speaks about finding a job.

English Translation

“I had spinal cord injury. I thought I would never be able to walk again. I was in intensive therapy for three years. Then I had to use a walker to walk until I was finally able to walk. When you are injured and disabled, you still have to keep living. And working is part of it – the main thing. When I was doing my physical therapy, I was told about organizations that could help me. That gave me hope to know that life was not over – that there was hope for people like me who are disabled. Life is not over for us. There are organizations here in Maryland and specifically in Montgomery county that are ready to help us. I have learned that human beings should never lose hope. Nobody should ever lose hope, there is always a helping hand a light at the end of the tunnel.”
